Gardner Edgerton High School senior Dilon Dodson leads an inpressive list of Blazer soccer players recently named to the All-Eastern Kansas League athletic and academic teams.
Dodson was a first team selection. He led GEHS to an 8-8-1 record and will graduate as the career goal scoring leader with 27. He also earned the most points in a career with 65. Dodson also earned first team All -Academic honors fron the Kansas Soccer Coaches Association with a 3.8  GPA.
Second team honors went to senior Austin Geist and junior Tim Mitchell.
Seniors  Travis Haenisch and Tyler Rayburn earned 3.5 GPA’s and and were named to the Outstanding Academic team by the Kansas Coaches Association.
The Blazers just concluded a very successful season posting an 8-8-1 record-the best league finish in school history. This was the best league finish since joining the Eastern Kansas League  and the best ever goal differential.  The team had a very tough schedule that included playing every state champion in 1-6A.
Next season Coach Andy Weber returns 7 of 11 starters including Luke Fischer and Tim Mitchell . Other top returnees are Jake McIntire, Kade Frizzell, Kalyn Ahrens, Juan Duque, Connor Edstrom and goalkeeper Alex Nunez.
