Lesta Bell, Activity Director at Medicalodges Gardner, was honored Oct. 4 at the KHCA/kcal Annual Awards Ceremony in Wichita. Bell was named the 2012 KHCA/kcalActivity Director of the Year.
Nearly 400 long-term care professionals watched as Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services Secretary Shawn Sullivan and KHCA Board Chairman Steve Hatlestad honored Bell. With more 35 years in health care, Bell believes it is her calling to make it better for those who are unable to make it better for themselves.
Medicalodges Gardner Administrator Terry Brown was also recognized.
“These awards are a chance for the long-term care community to honor the many wonderful caregivers who have devoted their lives to this profession,” said Cindy Luxem, President/CEO of the Kansas Health Care Association.
