Battling til the end, the Wheatridge eighth grade varsity Mustang football team dropped a hard fought 22-0 decision at Eudora, Sept 25.
Eudora scored first on a 40 yard TD to go up 6-0 after  4 minutes of play. WMS battled back with a long drive of its own but the offense stalled inside the Cards 20 yard line.
Eudora marched 70 yards just before halftime and scored to go up 14-0.
In third quarter action Jazz Davis recovered a fumble to get the Mustangs good field postion but the WMS drive was once again stalled inside the 30 yard line.  Eudora closed the scoring wit ha late fourth quarter TD.
Despite the loss, WMS got 44 yards of rushing from quarterback Griffin Johns and DaKota Kemp added 21 yards on the ground. Dylan Watts returned three kicks for 53 yards.
Defensively, the Mustangs were led by Johns, Dalton Mitchell, Ryan Frank and Brandon Lewis.
