The Kansas State 4-H Youth Leadership Council had their second T-shirt design contest for individuals who are 4-H club members from Kansas.
The Council offered Congratulations to Abby Gunkel of Great Plains 4-H Club in Shawnee, Kansas, for winning the design contest this year.
Abby submitted a T- shirt design that would serve as the next Jr. Leader fundraising t-shirt. Abby entered her 4-H emblem design in the contest in February, and then showed her design in the Visual Arts category of the Johnson County Fair in August. She won a purple ribbon for it.
The day her design was judged at the county fair, she got the phone call that informed her she had won the state contest. Her winning t-shirt design was to be screen printed and sold at the Kansas State Fair. These t-shirts are also available online at LINK.
This is Abby’s third year in 4-H, and only the second year she has been teaching the visual arts class in her club.
