Dewey Molenda finished in 29th place highlighting the Blazers’ effort at the Jayhawk Invitational, Sept. 22 at Rim Rock course in Lawrence.
Molenda raced to a season best 5K time of 17:07 in the highly competitive Crimsom division. That effort brought praise from coach Larry Ward.
“Dewey ran real well on a very tough course,” said Ward. “I was pleased with the effort.”
Besides Molenda, Arron Scott finished 87th in 17:41 and Omar Quintana was 139th in 18:07. Other encouraging performances  came from Chris Kreiser, Tim Visios-Ely and Tim Ward.
In the girls 4K race, Miranda Tenove continued to excel finishing 79th in 17:18. McKenzie Scroggin took 83rd in 17:18.  Katie Groshong raced to a season best 17:21 clocking to place 92nd. Sierra Coen and Kenna Douglass had personal best times and encouraging efforts also came from Aly Daniels and Lindsay Plank.
