The annual Spring Hill High school football soap scrimmage is set for 7 p.m. on Aug. 24 at the District stadium.
There is no cost for the event but attendees are encouraged to make a donation of laundry soap, bleach or stain treatment to the team. Boxes and tables will be at the stadium entrances for easy drop off.
In addition, the Spring Hill High school Booster club will be holding a silent auction at the scrimmage to raise funds that will directly benefit the team. There will also be a wide variety of themed baskets and gift certificates available.
Besides football, the first scheduled fall sports event takes place Aug. 23 at the Jeff West golf Invitational. Coach Dan Miller returns for his fourth season and hopes to lead the team back to state a fourth straight year.
Volleyball action rounds out the first week of action as Coach Alicia Von Stein’s squad takes to the court against Baldwin Aug 25.  Seniors Melody Hanson, Macy Carbajo, Meagan Crooks, Gwen Getz, and Shelby Baker will provide leadership . The team hopes to improve on last years 22-18 record.
