Regan Pittman, 14 of Spring Hill, recently competed in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Des Moines, Iowa from July 17 – 28.
The USAV HP Program is the “pipeline” for volleyball athletes who aspire to reach the elite level of their sport and is intended to grow the pool of talented young players who may someday compete for a spot on the USA National and Olympic Teams.
Before being selected to train and compete, Regan attended a national tryout in Kansas City during April where coaches from USA Volleyball evaluated players based on their skill level, athleticism, and potential.  Regan was chosen as one of 22 athletes from around the country to play for the USA HP Junior Select Continental Team.  During the first five days in Iowa, the girls trained and learned the USA Volleyball traditions at Grandview University.  The last five days consisted of opening ceremonies and a tournament at the Iowa Events Center consisting of teams from around the world.
Regan’s position is Middle Blocker and she will be attending Saint Thomas Aquinas High School as a freshman this fall.
