The Drillers, a Gardner based 12 and under competitive softball team,recently wrapped up the season with a 40-17-2 record and finished second place in the American division at OGSA.
The team was involved in 6, 12 and under B tournaments, placing first place three times. The team also recorded a second and third place tourney finish.
“This is a talented and hardworking group of kids,” said coach Kent McIntire. “They were dedicated and found a lot of success on the field.”
McIntire will move his team to the 14 B division this fall and will be involved in 3-4 USSSA tourneys.The team will stay in the Olathe area.
The Drillers are seeking  a couple new players and those interested can tryout  from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on July 25 at OGSA field 2 or from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on July 26 at OGSA field 2. If needed McIntire will hold an additional tryout  from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug 1 at OGSA field 2.
