Zelma Louise Casper, 72, of Spring Hill, Kan., passed away May 31, 2012 at Richmond Health Care Center in Richmond, KS.
Zelma was born Oct. 4, 1939 in Beckley, W.V. to Lee Joseph and Hazel Virginia (Palmer) Crawford. She graduated from Sophia High School.
She moved to Kansas in the early 60’s and married James Owen Casper, Sr. in Kansas City, Mo. on July 11, 1964. They moved to Spring Hill in 1976.
Zelma was an electronics assembler for Honeywell in Kansas City, Mo. She also worked for Stanley Textiles in Shawnee, Kan.
Zelma was a member of Eastern Star, Gardner Chapter and a Union member. She liked birds and squirrels and kept them fed. Her dog Domino was her joy. Zelma loved her grandkids and family very much. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James in 2010, and siblings Elaine Shuey and Don Crawford.
Zelma is survived by her son James Casper, Jr. and wife Gina of Richmond, Mo., and daughter Terry Leimkuhler and husband Larry of Elkland, Mo.; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m., June 4, 2012, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., June 3, 2012 at the Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S.
