Prairie Moon 4-H Club of Spring Hill and the Johnson County Livestock 4-H Club joined together on April 16 for a 4-H Exchange Meeting.
The meeting was held at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Gardner.
There were 24 members of the Johnson County Livestock Club and 17 members of Prairie Moon 4-H Club in attendance.
Prior to the meeting the two clubs joined together for a pizza dinner, with pizza graciously provided by Cion Hamilton.
During the meeting results from the Kansas State Spring finals match for air-rifle, BB gun and air-pistol disciplines in the 4-H shooting sports program were announced.
Johnson County was represented by Ethen Eccles, Chase Eccles, Bryce Zimmerman, Brenna Zimmerman, Kyleigh Haun, Kenton Smith, Daniel Smith, Ryan Savage and Ethan Wheeler.
Rifle coach Barry Zimmerman points out these highlights from the match:
Zimmerman shot a 93 (out of 100) in the prone position for BB (one of the four position shooters compete in) and set her new personal best total aggregate score at 344 (out of 400).
Smith shot his personal best in BB with a 356 and personal best in air rifle with a 422 (out of 600 possible). Kenton also medaled in air rifle in the prone position.
Haun took first place in the BB gun prone position with a 99 out of 100. She also placed in the kneeling position and in overall aggregate total score.
The Exchange Meeting was concluded with a presentation by Tracy Lindsey, from Farmers Union Coop, about feeding and caring for livestock.
