Using timely hitting, solid pitching and defense, the Spring Hill varsity baseball squad swept Osawatomie in doubleheader action on April 12.
“We hit the ball well and again got good pitching and defense,” said Coach David Londene, who has guided his group to a 6-4 record.
In the 15-4 opening game win, Lake Johnson (2-0) was the winning pitcher He hurled three innings and struck out 10 batters.
Carson King had a big night at the bat going four-for-four with two home runs and three RBI. Zach Girrens went two-for-three with a home run and three RBI. Derek Bybee went three-for-for and Miles Updike went two-for-two with a double.
It was the same story in game two as Spring Hill posted a 14-2 win in six innings.
This time, Jeff Lovetinsky (1-2) was the winning pitcher. He hurled four innings allowing just one hit and just one walk.
Brady Donahue went three-for-five with a double and one RBI. Bybee also went three-for-five with a double and two RBI. Updike and Girrens each collected two hits.
It will be a busy week for Spring Hill with a home doubleheader versus Eudora April 17 and a single home game versus Sumner on April 19.
