A 1-2-3 sweep in the javelin event helped the Lady Blazer bring back a second-place finish from the Olathe Invitational on April 6.
Danie Plank led the way with a gold medal 142′ javelin throw while Ashlee Bilhimer took second place with 129’3″. Jessica Cisneros took third with 122’7″.
In the shot put, Hannah Schneider took gold with a heave of 40’3″. Plank took second with a 36’5 ½” effort and Kyra Burcham, fourth with 36′ 3 ½”.
Plank took second in the discus with a toss of 108’4″ while Burcham took third with a 103’6″ effort. Hannah Culbertson was third at 91’8″.
In the pole vault, Cassie Wait grabbed gold tying a personal best 12’0″. Natalie Mitchell took second with a personal best 11’6″ and Haley Dean, fourth clearing 9’0″.
On the track, Kyla Martin raced to second place in the 100 meters in a time of 12.4 and teamed with Taylor Claybon, Mitchell and Faith Jolly to take third in the 400 relay in a time of 51.8.
Next action comes April 13 at the Shawnee Mission Northwest triangular. Field events start at 3:45 p.m.
