A Gardner family was injured in a two-car accident on Interstate 35 near 75th Street.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 38-year-old James M. Martin, Gardner, was northbound on I-35 when the vehicle hydroplaned, bounced off a barrier wall and went into the path of a tractor-trailer driven by Terry Dean Shee, 64 of Longmont, Colo.
The semi’s trailer was detached in the crash and went over the barrier where it overturned.
James M. Martin and four passengers in his vehicle were transported to the University of Kansas Medical Center for treatment injuries.
Also injured were Cimberly A. Martin, 34; Pierson A. Martin, 7; Tristen L. Martin, 12; and Gavin K. Martin, 9; all of Gardner.
Their conditions were not known at press time.
Shea, the driver of the semi, sustained possible injuries.
