Spring Hill High School will hold its homecoming coronation between the varsity girls and varsity boys games on Feb. 3. The games start at 6 p.m.
Royalty candidates include:
Derek Bybee, 18, is the son of Tony Bybee and Donna Bybee.
He is on the B Honor Roll and is a member of Natural Helpers.
Derek has participated in basketball for four years, baseball for four years, soccer for three years and cross country for one year.
His future plans include attending college, playing basketball, and majoring in sports management.
Anna Lee King
Anna Lee King, 18, is the daughter of Brian and Kelly King.
She has been on the honor roll for eight semesters and is a member of the Kansas Honors Program, Volunteer Club, is vice president of Natural Honor Society, was a student council representative for two years and served in Natural Helpers for three years, including two years as a leader.
She has also been active in tennis for four years, was a state qualifier, and captain during her senior year.
Her future plans include attending college and earning a degree in art education or art therapy.
Cassidy Labra, 18, is the daughter of Samantha and Michael Howard.
She has been on the A Honor Roll for four years, a member of Natural Helpers for one year, SADD for two years, FCA for three years and student publications for three years.
Cassidy served as football manager for four years and played varsity softball for three years.
Her future plans include attending an in-state college.
Austin Miller, 17, is the son of Dan and LaDonna Miller.
He has been on the honor roll for four years, the second team All League in baskeball, and the Spring Hill Invitational Basketball Tournament.
He has served on mission trips to Queens, N.Y. and an indian reservation in Minnesota, and also helps with Children’s Church on Sundays and each summer with Vacation Bible School.
Austin has been active in football, soccer and lettered three years in basketball.
His future plans include attending Mid America Nazarene University or Johnson County Community College, majoring in business and marketing, and then pursuing a career in the hunting and fishing industry.
Ericka Simpson, 18, is the daughter of Rick and Vicki Simpson.
She is current student body president, a member of National Honor Society and FCA, is a Kansas Honor Scholar and volunteer youth basketball coach.
She played volleyball for two years, basketball for four years and has been on the Frontier League First Team since her sophomore year. She also received All-State honorable mention for two years.
Ericka’s future plans include continuing her education at Baker University and playing basketball. Her career goal is to become a physical therapist.
Taylor Smith, 17, is the son of Shane and Tamia Smith is on the A Honor Roll and has lettered three times in varsity soccer and four times in varsity wrestling.
Taylor’s future plans include wrestling at Benedictine College and majoring in psychology.
Dustin Truitt, 17, is the son of Rhonda and Rick Truitt.
He played freshman soccer and has been active in performances of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Night of January 16th,” and “Oklahoma!”
Dustin’s future plans include earning a degree in pediatric physical therapy at the University of Kansas.
Kylen Young, 18, is the daughter of Paul and Hallie Young. She has been active as National Honor Society president, as a member of FCA for four years, including two years as president, hostess and chairperson for the Spring Hill Invitational Basketball Tournament for four years, Volunteer Club, and SADD for three years.
She has been the girls varsity basketball manager for three years.
Her future plans include attending Mid-America Nazarene University.and majoring in organizational leadership.
