The Gardner Edgerton High School Blazer freshmen boys basketball teams dropped a pair of hard-fought decisions at Blue Valley Northwest Jan. 12.
In the ‘A’ team contest, GEHS lost 57-22 despite six points form Carson Hobby and Sean Callahan.
“Our ‘A’ team guys played hard versus BVNW but our shooting percentage completely took us out of the game,” said Coach Joel Patterson. “Defensively, we may have taken a step back. We certainly have things we need to work on as we move forward.”
It was the same story in the ‘B’ contest as GEHS dropped a 48-29 decision.
Despite the loss, GEHS got 12 points and 10 rebounds from Andrew Plank. Tanner Tribble and Blake Eckelberry added four points apiece.
“I was real proud of how our ‘B’ team played,” added Patterson. “We fought our way back into the game, but ran out of gas. This group is starting to gel, and I’m real pleased with the teamwork.”
