Sean Peter Thomson, 56, of Wellsville, Kan. passed away Dec. 31, 2011 at Olathe Medical Center.
Sean was born May 6, 1955 in Lawrence, Kan. to Jack Kale and DaVise (Outhier) Thomson. He grew up in Mulvane, Kan. and moved to Gardner in 1972. Sean also lived in Rantoul and moved to Wellsville 20 years ago. He graduated from Gardner High School in 1973. Sean attended Emporia State University.
He married Debbie Ann Gillihan on June 20, 1986 in Lawrence.
He worked for 20 years at Liberty Hall in Lawrence.
Sean enjoyed hunting, fishing, horticulture, KU basketball, and he won medals and the team championship in Frisbee Golf at the Sunflower State Games. He also loved to cook for his family. Sean will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Sean is survived by his wife, Debbie of the home; children Nicole Gillihan, Ellensburg, Wash., Sean Kale Thomson and Cody Erin Thomson, both of the home; siblings Kelly Thomson Juiliano and husband Ray, Kansas City, Kan. and Jon-David Thomson, Lava Hot Spring, Idaho.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Jan. 7, 2012 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. prior to the service also at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at
