Marlys Ann Meek, 79, of Spring Hill, went to join the Lord in heaven on Nov. 8, 2011 after a brief illness at Olathe Medical Center.
Marlys was born April 8, 1932 in De Soto, KS to Richard and Opal Jensen. She married Vance “Bud” Meek, Jr. on Dec. 27, 1948 at the Spring Hill United Methodist Church. Bud and Marlys were selected Spring Hill Citizens of the Year in 2003.
Marlys touched the lives of many youth during her 29 year career with the Spring Hill School District as the head of food service and as a ticket taker at District events. She always had a kind word and smile for attendees. Bud and Marlys enjoyed many trips together during their retirement years. They had lots of fun and friends at their place in Forsythe, Mo. where they enjoyed fishing and relaxing. Marlys will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Marlys was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law Diana Meek, wife of Bill.
