An Edgerton woman accused of shooting her sister last month is now facing charges of attempted premeditated first degree murder.
The charges were upgraded from aggravated assault.
A preliminary hearing has been set for 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 4.
The shooting took place on Sept. 3 in the 200 block of West Nelson Street.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Ashley Tharet, 29, allegedly shot the victim in the neck following an argument inside their residence.
The victim was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Tharet was taken into custody following the shooting and remains jailed in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
Authorities have not released the name of the victim, but said she is expected to survive.
