GEHS cross country teams turned in impressive performances at the Jayhawk Invitational, Sept. 24 on the Rim Rock course in Lawrence.
Both teams competed in the Crimson Varsity divisions. The boys finished 20th in a 5k race and the girls finished 23rd in a 4k run.
For the boys, Dewey Molenda led the way with a 5k time of 17:40- good enough for 55th. Right behind came Arron Scott in a personal best clocking of 18:01 for 82nd place.
Chris Krieser took 85th with a personal best of 18:03 and Justin Wilde, 132nd in 18:28. Omar Quintana took 148th in 18:43. Tim Visos-Ely took 194th in 19:27. Nathan Fox finished 203rd in 19:46.
For the girls, McKenzie Scroggin finished 70th in 17:06. Aly Daniels finished 77th in 17:11. Cheyanne Foster finished 159th in 18:13. Molly Porter took 177th in 18:25. McKenna Douglas finished 183rd in 18:36.
Next comes the Annual Blazer Invitational Sept. 29. Providing competition will come from Mill Valley, Independence, Anderson County, Louisburg and Sante Fe Trail. First race begins at 4 p.m.
