One woman is in the hospital and another is in jail following a shooting at an Edgerton residence on Sept. 3.
The incident took place in the 200 block of West Nelson Street.
According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, two women were arguing inside their residence about 6 p.m. when one of the women pulled a handgun and shot the other in the neck.
The victim was taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Her condition was not known at press time.
The suspect, 28-year-old Ashley Tharet, Edgerton, was taken into custody following the shooting.
On Sept. 6 she was charged with aggravated battery and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
Police have not released the name of the victim, but said she is expected to survive.
