Ernest W Larrick Jr., 60, passed away May 1, 2011 at Olathe Medical Center.
Ernie was born in Edgerton, KS on June 6, 1950 to Ernest W Larrick, Sr. and Helen Elizabeth Gillihan Larrick. He lived in the Gardner Edgerton area his entire life. Ernie was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church. He attended and graduated The Lay Ministry in Topeka. He accomplished much in his life, to name a few: he served on Edgerton City Council and for a brief time served as mayor. Ernie worked as a sheet metal worker and then for 15 years was the owner and operator of Toney’s BBQ in Gardner, KS. Ernie married his childhood sweetheart LaVersa Ann Goucher June 18, 1971 in Edgerton, KS and together they raised a beautiful family.
Ernie is survived by his wife LaVersa; his children Jessica “Jacee” and James Lipari, Independence, MO, Ernest W “Ernie” Larrick III and wife Cristina, Kansas City, KS and Wednesday “Wendy” and Wayne Yoss, Gardner, KS; grandchildren: Lily and Ruby Yoss, Deeadra and Ryan Lipari; great-grandchildren: Mackinley Gabbert, Sebastian and Addison Podgorny, Max, Lexi and Lilly Lipari; sisters: Betty Hundley, Joann Boggs, MaryLou Dempsay- Leslie, Nancy Eckard, Floye “Flo” Curry, Judy Stitt, Tula Gillespie and Bonnie Ward along with 33 nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11:30 am Fri., May 6, 2011 at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 306 E Madison, Gardner, KS. Burial follows at Edgerton Cemetery, Edgerton, KS. Visitation 10:00 am at the church before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to “Open Arms” Lutheran Child Development Center.
