Deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 12 people in a two-day prostitution sting on May 9-10.
Seven men were arrested for soliciting prostitution, one man for promoting prostitution and four women for prostitution during this two-day operation.
This type of operation will continue to be conducted from time to time within the county, according to Sheriff Frank Denning.
“We will continue our efforts to curtail this type of activity in our community, there is no place in Johnson County for this type of illegal activity,” he said.
This effort was conducted in rural Johnson County. In addition, one felony warrant was cleared and more than $1,000 was seized. A sheriff’s official declined to disclose the location of the sting, but said the general area is between K-10 and 7 highways.
