The Pioneer Ridge Middle School seventh-grade girls 4×200 relay team set a new school record highlighting an impressive performance by Jag track teams at the Louisburg Triangular, April 12.
The 800 quartet of Cyan Gaeta, Kim Hollinger, Allie Weber and Rachel Knorr raced to a new record time of 2:04 to take gold.
The same foursome claimed first place in the medley relay.
The other gold belonged to Karli Smith who cleared 6′ to win the pole vault.
All told, the PRMS seventh-grade girls claimed second in the team standings.
“Most of the girls set a new personal best in one or more events,” said Coach Jaclyn Stanley. “The 4×200 relay has set a new record each meet. This is a great group to work with.
Silver medals went to Weber with a 20.43 clocking in the 100 hurdles and Macey Elkinton (29’9½” shot put). Karen Thompson took second place in the 1600 meters. The Jag 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams took second.
