Defendent in standoff makes first court appearance
Corey Christopher Lane, 23, had his first hearing April 14 on charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated battery/intentional harm. He is identified as the man who held police at bay April 8 during a seven-hour stand-off in Gardner. The incident started when a woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries allegedly received at the hands of the defendant. Police arrived at the home where the woman’s injuries occurred and the suspect refused to come out of the duplex.
Lane remains jailed at the Allenbrand Criminal Justice Complex. Bond is set at $100,000.
The woman’s name has not been released.
