Spring Hill Elementary School second grader Olivia Chrisman’s book “Chewbacca the
Cha-Cha Dog” was selected by local, nationally published authors as one of eight favorites. Chrisman’s story was selected from more than 500 entries in the Reading Reptile/Johnson County Library Writing Contest.
She attended a reception at the Country Club Plaza Library on Feb. 18. The top eight story writers received a certificate along with a framed illustration to go along with their stories.
Besides Chrisman, 27 other SHES students participated in the contest. They received certificates for their efforts, autographed books from the judging authors and attended the reception.
