Vivian Louise Shadoin, 64, of Olathe, KS, passed away February 11, 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House after a long courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer since Thanksgiving of 2002.á Vivian was born January 14, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to Boyce Alvin and Imogene (Rushing) Turner. Vivian married Robert Rusty Shadoin on June 4, 1964 in Olathe, KS. She lived in Olathe, Spartanburg, SC, Gardner, and moved back to Olathe in 1964. Vivian worked for 15 years as an allergy technician with Devins Allergy Clinic in Olathe. She also co-owned Olathe Executive Answering Service and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Gardner Bunko Bunch, and the Gardner Museum. She loved her grandchildren very much and was always involved with their activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Vivian is survived by her husband Rusty, of the home; children Valerie Broers and husband Kendall of Ottawa, KS, Tammy Atkins and husband Robert of Raytown, MO, Tim Shadoin and wife Kristy of Haven, KS, and Mindy Shadoin of Overland Park, KS; siblings Ron, Bill, Garry and Danny Turner, all of Olathe, Melinda Post of Edgerton, KS, Jeannie Southern and John Turner both of Gardner, and Phyllis Daniels of Paola, KS; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W 143rd St, Olathe, KS. Burial will follow at Gardner Cemetery, Gardner, KS. Visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Bruce Funeral Home, PO Box 192, Gardner, KS 913-856-7111.
