Tanner Hughes and Jadon Pearson-Bruce scored nine points apiece leading the Pioneer Ridge eighth-grade varsity boys basketball team to an impressive 44-27 win at Basehor-Linwood, Jan. 18.
Pioneer, 1-2, built an 11-6 first-quarter lead and went up 27-10 by halftime. The Jags secured their first win with 17 second-half points.
“The team played well defensively, especially in the first half,” said Coach Kevin Collins. “We converted several steals into points the second half and that helped.”

Haywood grabbed six rebounds and Webb and Hughes collected three steals.
