Edwin H. MacDowell, age 89, of Greenfield, Ohio formerly of the Gardner Kansas area, died Tuesday evening, December 28, 2010 at the Adena Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio He was born May 1, 1921, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Leroy and Thelma (Prosser) MacDowell. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was also a veteran of the United States Army. He had served as pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church in Gardner Kansas for over twenty-seven years. He is survived by two sons, Bruce Arthur MacDowell and his wife Sherry of Winchester, Edwin Leroy MacDowell and his wife Penny of Utah, eight grandchildren, Joanna (Chazz) Ward, Jessica (Jerry) Sarles, Jeremy (Melanie) MacDowell, Jennifer (Jerry) Buckamneer, Jonathan (Katie) MacDowell, Julia MacDowell, Delores MacDowell, Timothy (Angie) MacDowell, thirteen great grandchildren, Kyle Hackett, Mike Laba, Isaac Laba, Savannah MacDowell, Jonathan MacDowell, Tyler Ryan, McKinlee Ryan, Charity Buckamneer, Emma Buckamneer, Tanner MacDowell, D’Mari MacDowell, Timothy MacDowell Jr. and Brandon MacDowell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Patricia (Bailey) MacDowell, a son, Terry Bailey MacDowell and a brother, Bruce MacDowell. In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Grace Bible Church in Sinking Spring.
