Dora I Moody, 93, of Edgerton, KS, passed away January 5, 2011 at Wellsville Retirement Center, Wellsville, KS. Graveside Services will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, KS. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:30 am at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS, 913-856-7111, before the graveside on Wednesday. Condolences may be sent to www.brucefuneralhome.com Dora was born April 25, 1917 in Lawson, MO to Charles A and Faye I (Clayton) Hunt. She was raised by her mom and step dad Carl A Segabrecht, growing up and graduating high school in Kansas City, KS. She moved to Edgerton as a young lady. Dora married Teddy “Ted” R. Moody on May 21, 1937 in Olathe. She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. Dora was an active member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church for 63 years, teaching Sunday School and serving as a youth leader. She was a 4-H leader for years and a charter member of the EHU in Pleasant Valley. She was in book discussion groups in Gardner and Edgerton. She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, her husband Ted in 1982, step-brother Carl Segabrecht and brother James Hunt and his wife June. Dora is survived by her son Jerry Jim Moody and his wife Barbara of Edgerton, KS; one granddaughter; two step grandsons and one great grandchild.
