Abby Buie scored 11 points, leading the Wheatridge Middle School seventh-grade girls varsity basketball team to a 38-18 win at Eudora, Nov. 18.
Besides Buie, Angeliece Tucker and Ally Rodriguez tossed in five points. Lauren Strick had four; Lyric Henderson and Emily Smith, three; Taylor Stewart and Madison Hicks, two; and Lindsey Plank, one point.
It was the same winning story in seventh-grade junior varsity action as WMs improved to 3-1 with a 30-10 win at Eudora, Nov. 18.
WMS went up 10-4 at halftime thanks to the defense of Jordan Huffman, Miranda Tenove, Sydney Anderson, and Dawnisha Kendrick.
From there, WMS poured in 20 second-half points and rolled to victory.
Strick led the way with eight points. Tenove added six; Kendrick, Kali Stanley and Paige Rifford had four; Anderson and Adrienne Harrelson, two.
In eighth-grade varsity action, WMS posted its first win of the season beating Eudora in overtime, 30-28, Nov. 18.
Allison Koelzer led the way with 11 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks. Taylor Johnston added nine points, six boards, five steals, and one block.
Mikala Morgan was perfect at the foul line with four of four and had nine boards. Tiffani Richards collected six boards.
In eighth-grade junior varsity action, WMS lost to Eudora, 12-8, Nov. 18.
Despite the loss, Jasmine Bailey scored six points and Briana Hickingbottom, two.
