The Jaguars of Pioneer Ridge left little doubt of the outcome in both the junior varsity and varsity eighth grade girls basketball games against Wheatridge in the second Annual Ridge Rumble Nov 9 at Gardner Edgertion high school.
A capacity crowd looked on as the Pioneer junior varsity rolled to a 41-0 win in the opener and the varsity won the nightcap,31-11.
“The Lady Jaguar coaching staff wants to thank all the fans who contributed to the amazing atmosphere at the game” said Pioneer coach Jeff Davidson. We greatly appreciate your support of our basketball teams.”
The goal of the game was to promote a sense of community between the schools . Prior to the games,the national anthem was sung by a combined PRMS, WMS choir. The pep band was comprised of students from both middle schools.
On the court, tthe Pioneer junior varsity got a 10 point performance from Grace O’Dell and 8 points apiece from Hannah Flores and Faith Jolly.Emma Fotovich, 4 points Sabrina Huddleston, 3 points .Caitlin Winkler, Stefani Maness and Ashtynn Trammel, 2 points.
The Pioneer varsity got a stellar performance by Megan Bonar who netted 12 points,grabbed 7 rebounds and collected 4 steals.Savannah Hallier had 5 points and Sydney Clarke had 4 points and 4 steals.
Amy Hurd ,Kylie Bass and Taylor Lakey did an excellent job of rebounding.
