Irene Stogsdill, 87, of Gardner, Kan., passed away Sept. 26, 2010, at her home.
Irene was born July 18, 1923 in Centrahoma, Okla., to Ernest and Lula (Brown) Rider. Irene married Leroy G. Stogsdill on Aug.1, 1941 in Leavenworth, Kan. They were long time Wyandotte and Johnson County residents.
Irene retired as a bookeeping clerk for the Tower State Bank in Kansas City, Kan. She also had worked for the Wyandotte Bank. She was a very strong and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Gardner. She taught Sunday School and was a former member at Stony Point Church, Kansas City, Kan.. She attended Calvary Bible College. She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leroy; sister Pearl Kelly and brothers Jim, Raymond and Otis Rider.
Irene is survived by her daughters Linda Irene Shelley of Gardner; Martha Lee Brownell and husband Robert of Elephant Butte, NM; sisters Mary Flowers of Tonganoxie, Kan., and Mable Bohrer of Kansas City, Kan.; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N 94th, Kansas City, Kan.
