There will be a community  Safety Awareness Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 in the funeral home parking lot at 105 E. Loula St., Olathe.  The event is free and open to the public.  Adults and children of all ages are encouraged to attend and lunch will be provided.

Participating organizations will provide safety information, give-a-ways, tips and demonstrations.  In addition to the Olathe Fire Dept. and the Olathe Police Dept. presentations on fire and public safety along with McGruff the crime dog, the Highway Patrol will conduct inspections of car seats to ensure they are properly installed, the Masons of Olathe will conduct fingerprinting and photo identification for children, MAST will conduct response safety precaution tips.
