BNSF to abate unoccupied farm properties on intermodal site

Acting as good neighbors and partners, BNSF Railway Company will soon be removing unoccupied farm houses and outbuildings from properties that were purchased for the purpose of constructing the Intermodal Facility and the Allen Group’s separate warehouse development.
These properties have been unoccupied since the purchase and this work has been in the planning stages for some time. While BNSF has not provided an exact date for when the removal process will commence, the City will notify the public of the commencement of the removal process via this website.

Fireworks discharge prohibited in Gardner

The Gardner Dept. of Public Safety would like to inform the citizens on rules and regulations regarding fireworks and ordinances so that everyone can enjoy the 4th of July Holiday.
Gardner Ordinance 2331 Subsections 10.30 and 10.31 prohibits the discharge and sale of fireworks within our community. The Gardner Public Safety Department will continue to have a zero tolerance  policy and citations may be issued.
A professional fireworks display will occur on July 4, 2010, at dusk at the Gardner Edgerton High School, 425 N. Waverly Road.

Gardner city offices to close for Independence Day observance

All city offices will be closed Monday, July 5 in observance of the Independence Day holiday, according to the city’s website. All offices will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, July 6.

Basketball tourney winners
Last weekend’s Edgerton Frontier Days included a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, organized and sponsored by the Edgerton Recreation and Cultural Arts Committee. First place went to the team made up of Corey Adams, Ben Adams and Jason Larson.
