Entrance and exit ramps to Lone Elm Road from Interstate 35 are now open to the public.
The Lone Elm project, designed to relieve traffic congestion along 151st Street, cost $67 million and has been in the works for seven years, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation. KDOT officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening on Thursday morning.
In addition, the project included the reconstruction of the Lone Elm Bridge.  The new bridge opened in early June.
