Summer school was canceled at Gardner Edgerton High School on June 8 due to a main switch failure between the high school and the board of education offices. The high school summer school program is computer based, so classes were canceled for the day.
A new switch – with estimated costs of $55,000 – was covered by a district electronics insurance plan. A replacement was delivered to the district the following day, and network connectivity between the high school and district offices was re-established later that evening.
