Maybelle Marie Hake, 80, of Gardner died May 30, 2010 at Royal Terrace, Olathe.
Maybelle was born April 28, 1930, in Port Lousia, Iowa, to Albert “Slug” and Inez Marie (Wheeler) Schultz.  She married Howard William Hake on Oct. 9, 1947, in Muscatine, Iowa.  She lived in Gardner for 16 years and was in Olathe for 10.
Maybelle worked for King Radio and Olathe Boot Co.  After retiring she made doughnuts  for Casey’s in Gardner.
She enjoyed word games, crocheting, cooking and baking.
Maybelle loved her grandkids and great grandkids so much, cherishing time spent with them.  She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard in 1990 and her brother Harry Schultz.
Maybelle is survived by her children: Howard Dwayne Hake and Rainey of Osawatomie, Kan., Tina Brink and Edwin of Independence, Mo., Cheryl Hernandez and Robbie of Gardner, and Karen Burkeen and Dan of Kansas City, Kan.; brother Albert “Sonnie” Schultz of Columbus Junction, Iowa; sister Dorothy Reichert of Muscatine, Iowa; three grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; six great grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010,  at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, Kan., (913) 856-7111, with burial following at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe.  Visitation was held June 3, 2010, also at the funeral home.
