It was a record setting performance for Coach Jeff Davidson and his Pioneer Ridge Middle School track team in the season opener at Wheatridge Middle School April 1.
Four new records were set in the girls eighth grade division.Kyla Martin leaped 4’7″ to win the high jump and Hannah Culbertson tossed the discus 81’1″. Jill Starling set a new mark in the 100 hurdles in a time of 18.52 and she teamed with Haylee Burk,Taylor Claybon,and Kyla Martin to set a new 400 relay standard of 54 seconds.
The PRMS eighth grade girls and boys won team titles while the seventh grade boys and girls placed second.
For the eighth grade boys, Kalyin Ahrens placed first in the hurdles and 1600 relay and Tris Reed won the high jump and 1600 relay. Mijo Gray took first in the 800 relay and shot put and Jake Weekly won the pole vault.
