Zoning board recommends asphalt plant approval

The Johnson County Board of Commissioners will be asked to reconsider a a conditional use permit for an asphalt and concrete plant near Edgerton.

For a second time, members of the Southwest Johnson County Consolidated Zoning Board evaluated a permit request for the plant to be located within the current Edgerton rock quarry, and for a second time the board agreed to forwarding a recommendation to approve to the county commission.

    Were there any citizens, and, if so, how many, at this last SW Jo. Co. Consolidated Zoning Board to object to the asphalt plant?

    About 35 concerned citizens attended the July 23 meeting in Gardner. Approximately ten addressed the board members, applicants and county officials. Many will attend the Board of County Commissioners meeting in Olathe on August 28.
