Youth hitting league set for Dec. 17

A Blazer youth winter baseball hitting league is set to begin on Dec. 17. The youth league (ages fifth through eighth grades) will help young baseball players improve their hitting skills.
Games will take place at the Gardner-Edgerton High School multi-purpose room where indoor cages are set up. Scoring is determined on where the pitched ball is hit in the cage and an adult must pitch to their team. GEHS coaches will set the pitching distance and do the scoring.
All participants must be enrolled in a school from USD 231 and participate in their grade level. No out of district players will be accepted. All levels of ability will compete against each other.
A rules meeting for coaches will be mat 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11 in the GEHS Lecture Hall. League play will begin Dec. 17.
League play will be on the following Saturdays: Dec. 17, Jan. 7, Jan. 14, Jan. 21, Feb. 4, Feb. 11, and Feb. 18.
