Worship pastor joins staff of Gardner church

Pastor Eric Fry

Fellowship Bible Church will celebrate Christmas this year with a new worship pastor.
Eric Fry, 30, joined the staff team of the Gardner church in June. He comes to FBC from Almond, N.Y., where he volunteered in various worship roles at Alfred Almond Bible Church.
According to Lead Pastor Ty Cross, Fry’s presence has given FBC someone who can be intentional about incorporating new people into the music ministry, and then training them to become leaders within that ministry.
“Eric is interested in so much more than just playing good music, though he does that,” Cross said. “He also wants to develop a deeper sense of worship within the entire church.”
Fry grew up in northwest Ohio. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Bible from Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pa., and also has completed courses at New Life School of Worship in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, N.Y.
In addition to being an accomplished worship leader, vocalist and guitar player, Fry also is an ordained minister. From 2004-09, he served as associate pastor and worship leader at Bible Baptist Church in Huntington, Ind.
Fry lives in Gardner with his wife, Abby, and their two young children, Libby and Jackson. In addition to enjoying the active culture of the people at FBC, he and his family appreciate Gardner’s relatively close proximity to Kansas City.
“In New York, we were an hour away from a metropolitan area, so it is nice to be so close to the city and its amenities,” he said.
Fellowship Bible Church is located at 16900 S. Waverly Rd. For more information about the worship ministry, contact Fry at (913) 856-8454.
