WMS Mustang boys win track triangular

Wheatridge Middle School’s seventh-grade boys track team dominated their home triangular, April 14 out-pointing runner-up Baldwin, 66-57.
Nolan Beets and Andrew Sprague were double winners. Beets raced to a gold at 100 meters in 12.84 and won the 400 meters in 1:00.84. Sprague heaved the shot put 39’6 ½” and tossed the discus 105’2 1/4″. Dylan Adams won the pole vault at 6’6″. Other golds came from the 800, 1600, and medley relay teams.
The seventh-grade girls took second place scoring 40 points. Leading the way were gold medal winners Abby Buie (pole vault, 6′) and Tiranda Tenove (1600, 6:06.43.)
The eighth-grade boys were also second scoring an impressive 61 points. Marcus Gilmore won the 100 in 12.3 and 200 in 25.02. Jordon Peralez won the 1600 in 5:24 and the 800 meter relay took first.
The eighth-grade girls finished third with 46 ½ points behind double winner Allison Koelzer.
Koelzer won the pole vault at 6’6″ and the 200 at 30.21. Lily Keohane won the 3200 meters at 14:45. The medley relay also took top honors.
