The Gardner Edgerton High School Blazer boys varsity basketball team continued its winning streak with victories against Blue Valley High School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School last week.
Against Blue Valley, GEHS posted a 73-68 win behind the 19-point effort of Kyle Hultgren.
The Blazers jumped to a 24-12 first quarter lead and never looked back. By halftime, GEHS controlled the game with a 42-27 score. The team added 31 second half points to salt away its 10th win of the season.
Besides Hultgren, Jacob Haywood and Nash Bostwick scored 13 points, while Bryson Rohr and Brett Wright had 11 points.
Against STA, GEHS recorded a 55-47 victory behind the 12-point scoring efforts of Wright and Hultgren.
GEHS, 11-8, held a 30-24 halftime lead and outscored STA 25-23 in the second half to take the victory.
In addition to point leaders Wright and Hultgren, Rohr and Bostwick netted double digit point totals with 11 points apiece. Jacob Lathrum added six points for the Blazers and Nate Wagner scored three points.
