Williams, Pesek lead Gardner-Edgerton squad to impressive state finish

Several Gardner Edgerton High School wrestlers competed in the 6A State Tournament in Wichita. Dustin Williams and Seth Pesek brought back individual wrestling titles highlighting an impressive effort by the Gardner Edgerton High School team at the 6A state tournament in Wichita last weekend.
William, a 170-pound senior, closed a brilliant career at GEHS with his third state championship. He will continue his career at the University of Nebraska next year.
Equally impressive was Seth Pesek, a junior who captured his second state title at 195 pounds. Jacob Bonham, a sophomore, took second at 113 pounds, and Emilio Fowler battled his way to a fourth place finish at 182 pounds.
Other outstanding efforts came from Hunter Skeens, a freshman, who went 0-2 at 120 pounds; TJ Burger, a junior, went 0-2 at 126 pounds; Tyler Norton, a junior, at 138 pounds posted a 1-2 record; Dustin Carstens, sophomore, went 1-2 at 152 pounds; and Andrew Sprague, sophomore, went 0-2 at 220 pounds.
