Wheatridge wins track titles at Ottawa meet

Wheatridge Middle School brought back two team titles in a triangular at Ottawa, April 5.
The seventh-grade girls posted a 93-58 win versus Ottawa while the seventh-grade boys defeated Ottawa by a score of 83-65.
The eighth-grade boys finished second to Ottawa by a 85-36 scored and the eighth-grade girls took third with 41 points.
For the seventh-grade girls, Abbie Lane raced to first in the 100 hurdles (20.53) and 400 (1:11.99). Abby Buie won the 100 (15.1) and pole vault (6’0″).
Miranda Tenove won the 1600 in 6:34 and Laurel Strick took first in the shot put (30′ 1/4″) and discus (77′ ½”).
Angeliece Tucker won the high jump with a 4′ leap.
For the seventh-grade boys, Nolan Beets won the 100 (13.53), 400 (1:01.51) and high jump (4’8″) Nathaniel Payne took first in the 100 hurdles (19.74) and long jump (13’6″). Kade Loring won the pole vault (6’6″).
For the eighth-grade girls, Lily Keohane won the 3200 in 14:43.23. Allison Koelzer won the 200 in 30:13 and the pole vault (6’6″).
For the eighth-grade boys, Marcus Gilmore won the 100 (13.05) and the 200 (26.28). Jordan Peralez won the 1600 at 5:27. Kyle Hultgren won the 800 in 2:32 and Kyle Stubler won the pole vault clearing 9′.
