The Johnson County CERT team sponsored a Severe Weather Awareness Seminar at King of Kings Lutheran Church on April 10. Meteorologist Bill Gery of the National Weather Service Central Region Headquaters presented an 80-minute class that ended with a question-and-answer session. Several Gardner residents attended the seminar. Some of the topics that were covered were identification of various cloud formations, wind sheer, tornado, lightening safety, flash flood safety and mobile spotting procedures.
