Vera Jean Gritt

Vera Jean Gritt, 78, of Edgerton, Kan., passed away July 11, 2013 at her home.

Vera was born July 7, 1935 in Edgerton to Charles and Hester S. (Waddell) Pritchard. She was a graduate of Edgerton High School.

Vera married Leo Charles “Chuck” Gritt on July 7, 1956 in Topeka, Kan. They lived in Wisconsin and Indiana before moving back to Edgerton.

She retired in 2010 from working as an electronics assembler at Garmin in Olathe.

Vera enjoyed sewing, cooking and reading. Vera loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chuck, a sister and four brothers.

Vera is survived by her children Charles Scott Gritt and wife Jill, of Cecil, Wis., Robert Guy Gritt, of Wellsville, Kan., Thomas Bart Gritt and wife Helen, of Edgerton, Patrick Ron Gritt and wife Lisa, of Gardner, and Katherine Mae Rasler and husband Harold, of Edgerton; sister Mary Frances Summers and husband Steve, of Overland Park, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Mary Pritchard, of Edgerton and Jean Gritt, of Seymore, Wis.

Graveside funeral services were held July 13, 2013 at Edgerton Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends was held at the home of Tom and Helen Gritt.
