More than 700 undergraduate and graduate students at Baker University received their degrees during commencement ceremonies May 11 and May 19 at the Collins Center.
Among those who received their degrees were Sherry Dumolien, of Gardner, Kan., earned a Master of Science in School Leadership;Jeffery Leroy, of Gardner, Kan., earned a Bachelor of Business Administration; Heather McMillan, , of Gardner, Kan., earned a Bachelor of Business Administration; Janey Allen, of Spring Hill, Kan., earned a Bachelor of Business Administration;and Christina Sebol, of Wellsville, Kan., earned a Master of Business Administration.
Sarah Grace Russell, of Gardner, Kan., was one of over 3200 Baylor University students were named to the Dean’s Academic Honor List for the 2013 sprint semester. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7, while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours. Russell attended the College of Arts and Sciences.
Grand View University
Kelsey Carbajo, of Spring Hill, Kan. was recognized for outstanding academic achievement at Grand View University students for the 2013 spring semester.
The students are named to the President’s List for earning a grade point average of 4.0 while carrying at least 12 hours of classes.
Ottawa University announced the students named to the Spring 2013 Dean’s List.
Among those named were Lauren B. Buckles, of Gardner, Dean’s Honor Roll; Abby S. New and Jennalyn N. Phillips, both of Wellsville, Kan., Dean’s List.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must be degree-seeking; have earned a minimum of 24 hours over the preceding two semesters at Ottawa University; and earned a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
To qualify for the Dean’s Honor Roll, students must be degree-seeking; have earned a minimum of 12 semester hours during the preceding semester; and earned a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
The following area students were recognized for their achievements during Ottawa University’s spring honors convocation on April 18, 2013.
Megan Gillespie, of Edgerton, Kan., was recognized for KCAC All-Academic Athlete Award and NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete Awards in Volleyball.
Lauren Buckles, of Gardner, Kan., was recognized for Champions of Character National Sportsmanship Awards in Women’s Basketball. Jennalyn N. Phillips, Wellsville, Kan., was awarded Sigma Alpha.
University of Saint Mary
Sadie E Schnetzler, of Spring Hill, Kan., received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Saint Mary. The university marked the close of another academic year and the completion of this leg of the class of 2013’s educational journey at USM’s Commencement ceremony Saturday, May 11, in McGilley Field House on the university’s main Leavenworth campus.
