University updates

Emporia State University
Ryan Charles Cackler, Edgerton, and Kimberly Dawn Burnell, Spring Hill, earned undergraduate degrees from Emporia State University Dec. 17. The local students were among a class of more than 550 who earned degrees from ESU.
Cackler earned a bachelor of arts degree in English with a minor in psychology, and Burnell earned a bachelor of science in business management.

William Jewell College
Allison O’Leary, Gardner, was named to the Dean’s List at William Jewell College for the 2011 fall semester. O’Leary is a senior English and education major during the fall semester at the college located in Liberty, Mo.

Washburn University Honor Roll
Washburn University has released the names of students who were named to the fall semester Dean’s and President’s Honor Rolls.  Among those named to the Dean’s honor roll were Megan Danielle Hash, Edgerton; Grant Nelson, Spring Hill; Robert Allen Sturm, Spring Hill; and Trenton William Meyer, Wellsville.
Elizabeth Kendrick, Spring Hill, was named to the President’s honor roll.

Trinity University
Jamie McClave, Spring Hill, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester at Trinity University.  The dean’s list honors Trinity students who maintained a grade point average of 3.65 or better while enrolled in a minimum of 15 semester hours.

Baker University
The following students were named to Baker University’s College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education undergraduate dean’s list for maintaining a 3.5 grade-point average or higher during the fall 2011 semester.
Peyton Weekly, of Edgerton;  Lauren Anderson, Samantha Brandt, Brittany Friedel, Justin Lane, Stephanie Morse, Teresa Morse, Kaylyn Price, Jessica Rogers, Vanessa Saphangthong, Laura Shank, Krystina Townsend, all of Gardner; and Kathryn Fritz, Spring Hill, were named to the dean’s list.

Emporia State University
Seven Gardner students earned top honors at Emporia State University last semester. Ashley Coon, Mandy Copp, Joshua Johnson, MacKenzie Knight, Ethan Platt, Brittany Renner, and Lindsay Ward, all of Gardner, qualified for the ESU honor roll. To earn a place on the roll, students must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.80 with at least 12 graded hours.

Fort Scott Community College
Gregory Decker, Gardner, and Seth Roberts, Gardner, earned spots on the fall honor roll at Fort Scott Community College. In order to make the coveted list, students must earn at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Norwich University
Trevor Breitenbach, Gardner, was recognized on the dean’s list at Norwich University for the fall 2011 semester.

Pittsburg State University
Shelby Rawles, Edgerton, was recognized by Pittsburg State University for earning a spot on the all A honor roll.  Rawles earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall 2011 semester.
