College of the Ozarks
Amanda Allen, of Gardner, served as a candidate in the College of the Ozarks 2013 Homecoming Coronation.
Allen is a Gardner Edgerton High School graduate.
During the Coronation, 40 C of O student clubs and organizations nominated candidates; votes by the student body determined the top 20 finalists.  A panel of judges selected the top 10 based on interviews with the candidates.
Then, each of the top 10 ladies answered an on-stage question. The judges crowned the queen and her court based upon the impromptu Q & A and the one-on-one interviews with the judges done earlier that day.
Other factors taken into consideration were poise, personality and stage presence.
